Community Engagement: Making a Difference

Why do people get involved in community building? How do they do it? What are their challenges and accomplishments? And how can this apply to any neighborhood? 

Bring your neighbors, friends and family an any age to learn about URBANWORKS, recently launched by Steve Curtis.  

Steve is passionate about building community and engaging with others to make it happen.  A longtime community organizer,  Steve will bring an intergenerational panel to our February 27 forum. They will talk about working with residents and community partners to address neighborhood concerns. Steve’s past projects have included working with youth through the arts, establishing a community garden where all ages are involved, and creating a weekly informal coffee to network with business leaders, city officials and residents.
