Book Club FAQ

Our book clubs provide a platform for individuals with similar interests to engage in meaningful discussions about books, ideas, and topics that align with the club's theme. The clubs hold meetings at least once a month, either in person or via Zoom, and the featured book changes every month. Each book club has its unique style and process, so it is important to check the club's description or contact the person in charge if you have any questions.

Book Clubs will have a limited number of physical copies available for members to borrow from the front desk of their home library. However, some book clubs may require you to register online before picking up your book. Please carefully check the description of the book club you are interested in before claiming a book.

In addition to physical copies, you may also have the option to access a digital copy of the selected title through Hoopla. However, please note that we cannot guarantee the availability of Hoopla materials.

If all the reserved copies of the book club title have been borrowed, the library staff can check if a copy of the book is available on the library floor. Additionally, they can verify the book's availability in other library locations, have it sent to your preferred library, and put it on hold for you.

Yes! We understand that sometimes life can get in the way, and we wouldn't want our members to miss out on attending our book club simply because they didn't have time to read the entire book. We encourage our members to read as much as possible to get the most out of the experience. Our book clubs are primarily about socializing and engaging in meaningful discussions on books, related themes, and important topics.

Each book club has its own unique process for selecting books to discuss. Generally, clubs will ask for suggestions from the group for future books they're interested in. Our staff then picks books based on the titles' availability and appropriateness for the club. If you have any specific questions about how books are chosen for a particular book club, don't hesitate to get in touch with the person in charge.

You can book a room to meet with your club at least 72 hours in advance at our Main, South, and West locations. The rooms can be scheduled up to three (3) months in advance, with a limit of three (3) bookings per person or group at a time. You can view the meeting rooms available at our locations. Please get in touch with the library directly if you have any questions or would like to reserve a room.
