Program Description

Event Details

For the month of February, we will be watching movies from the 50s and 60s with black leading actors.  Inspired by Elvis Mitchell's documentary "Is That Black Enough for You?!?", these are a few of the pioneers that paved the way for the black actors of today.  Special note: Sidney Poitier is not included as I have already done a month dedicated to him.

On this night, we are watching Leo Penn's 1966 film "A Man Called Adam" starring Sammy Davis Jr., Cicely Tyson, and Ossie Davis.

A famous jazz trumpeter finds himself unable to cope with the problems of everyday life.
