For the month of May, we are showing movies starring John Cusack. Cusack got his start making coming of age films in the 80s before a smooth transition to indie leading man the following decade. He may not have the accolades that some of his peers do, but he has made a handful of movies that remain classics for a generation.
On this night, we are watching John in Stephen Frears' 2000 film "High Fidelity" also starring Jack Black and Lisa Bonet. It is rated R.
When record store owner and compulsive list-compiler Rob Gordon gets dumped by his long-time girlfriend, Laura, because he hasn’t changed since they met, he revisits his top five breakups of all time in order to figure out what went wrong. As he examines his failed attempts at romance and happiness, the process finds him being dragged, kicking and screaming, into adulthood.
