Historical Australian Fiction, Women's Fiction, Post-War Radio-Broadcasting

Join us on Thursday April 10th at 5:30pm as we discuss

The Radio Hour by Australia's bestselling author Victoria Purman.

Here's a sneak peek:

"Martha Berry is fifty years old, a spinster, and one of an army of polite and invisible women in 1956 Sydney who go to work each day and get things done without fuss, fanfare or reward."

"To men like Quentin Quinn, Martha was nothing but an old woman with her hair in a neat bun at her neck, a brown woolen suit, and sensible shoes. He would have no idea-and no curiosity-about the fact that she had worked everywhere and knew almost everything about how the broadcaster operated. No, he would not think that about her at all. How had she become invisible and indispensable all at the same time?"

Interested patrons must register to receive the Zoom information. Limited copies of the book are available for pickup at West Wyandotte Library. Don't you want to come join us?!
