For the month of February, we will be showing movies from the 2010s that didn't get as much attention as they might have deserved. These include a small indie gem, a South American film, a Herculean effort in animation, and a less talked about work from a big name director.
On this night, we are watching Ciro Guerra's 2015 film "Embrace of the Serpent" starring Nilbio Torres, Jan Bijvoet, and Antonio Bolivar.
The story of the relationship between Karamakate, an Amazonian shaman and last survivor of his people, and two scientists who work together over the course of forty years to search the Amazon for a sacred healing plant.
