Event Details
Kansas City, Kansas has a large Burmese community and we want to celebrate our new neighbors in a pop-up tea shop!
Tea shops are a traditional part of Burmese life where people come together for milk tea and snacks. We invite you to join us at the West Wyandotte Library to learn more about the Burmese community's culture through tea, music, and a documentary about the recent history of Myanmar. We will have water activities in honor of Thingyan, a water festival celebrating Burmese New Year, and encourage everyone to come celebrate and learn more about our new neighbors from across the world!
This event will be held outside from 2:00-4:00 on the patio and lawn, weather permitting.
