In 2010, Pernille Ripp founded The Global Read Aloud, a global literacy initiative that began with a simple goal in mind: one book to connect the world. From its humble beginnings, the GRA has grown to connect millions of students around the world. The Young Adult book selected for 2020 is Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Jason Reynolds.

This year KCKPL has decided to join in the fun and connect with our patrons virtually as library staff read a section of the book each week and engage in meaningful discussion about the topics presented in each chapter. This program is recommended for ages 12 and up.

Please join us Mondays at 4:00 pm on the following dates on Zoom where KCKPL staff will read the following sections of the book:

October 5 Intro - Chapter 3

October 12 Chapter 4 - 10

October 19 Chapter 11 - 14

October 26 Chapter 15 - 19

November 2 Chapter 20 - 22

November 9 Chapter 23 - 26

November 16 Chapter 27 - Afterword

Zoom link will be emailed to all registrants before each meeting, and posted here on the calendar 24 hours before the event.
