Zines (pronounced ‘zeens’) are self-published magazines, comics, poetry books, or other image/text-based print works. They are generally printed in small batches, and they are made by (and for) all kinds of people for all kinds of reasons. Zines can look like small booklets, single pages, slideshows, PDFs, and more. They can contain poetry, stories, recipes, collages, drawings, photography, letters, instructions, ideas, dreams, or anything else you could imagine.
You can pick up your own Zine Workshop kit at the West Wyandotte Library, containing more info on zines, instructions, as well as materials to make your zines! Email Jalah at jdanks@kckpl.org or call 913-295-2590 ext. 5 to reserve your kit for curbside pickup at the West Wyandotte Library. Or, let us know you would like one at your next curbside holds pickup! Let us know in your email or call if you need colored pencils and glue. Zine kits are available while supplies last, so call or email today! One per child ages 5 to 18, please.
