Event Details

For the month of July, we'll be showing screwball comedies from the 1930s.  Screwball comedies were a type of romantic comedy popular during the 1930s and 40s.  They used fast, witty dialogue coupled with outlandish situations to satirize social class and gender dynamics.

On this night, we are watching Gregory La Cava's 1936 film My Man Godfrey starring William Powell and Carole Lombard.

A scatterbrained socialite hires a vagrant as a family butler - but there's more to Godfrey than meets the eye.
