Did you know compostable food scraps take up about 25% of the space in our landfills and generate harmful greenhouse gases like methane? For this program, we will discuss the process and benefits of starting a compost pile, interact with live decomposers, and recreate a miniature landfill to find out what happens when we throw it "away". Also, participants will get to take home a small pot that includes some of the compost produced at the library AKA worm poop.
