For the month of July, we will be showing movies starring Walter Matthau. Matthau was a star of the stage and screen for over 4 decades and won an Oscar, 2 Tonys, and a Golden Globe during that span. He specialized in playing curmudgeonly slobs that often played off of a contrasting character.
On this night, we are watching Walter in Gene Saks' 1968 film "The Odd Couple" also starring Jack Lemmon. It is rated G.
A New Yorker newly separated from his wife moves in with his best friend, a divorced sportswriter, but their ideas of housekeeping and lifestyles are as different as night and day.
