This collection includes intimate photographs of trees that are found around the KC metro area, primarily located in nature sanctuaries and parks. Studies show that being in forests and around trees is beneficial to human health, reduces stress, and improves the immune system, but studies also show that viewing photos of trees has a calming and healing effect on people when trees are not visible or accessible due to urban living or being inside of buildings for work and school. Photographing trees by looking at them through the lens of the heart is a spiritual and prayer practice for the photographer.
